On the piercing table, you are laid bare: skin on flesh on bone. From this prone and vulnerable stance, you experience the unique sensation of needles entering and leaving layers of flesh. Piercing is at times meditative: a slow push in with an exhale of breath, each puncture a release. Blood drips from precisely made marks and a bond of trust is formed between piercer and subject.
